Beloved Actor The actor Pat Finn, Known For Parts in The Middle and Friends, Has Died at Age 60.
US entertainer Pat Finn, who appeared in iconic TV shows including Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed at 60 years old.
The comedic improv actor succumbed at his home in Los Angeles on Monday having undergone cancer treatment since 2022, per media reports.
"He considered no one a stranger - just potential friends he had yet to meet," his relatives shared in a announcement.
They noted that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with joy and exuberance".
An Extensive TV Career
Finn's first television role was in the George Wendt Show in the mid-90s, where he played the titular character's brother.
He was also seen in a repeating character on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He played the part of Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, depicting a host who would assign unpleasant chores to his guests.
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he had guest spots on a variety of hit series, including:
- The King of Queens
- "Friends"
- "That '70s Show"
- House
His most famous role for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons between 2011 and 2018.
His film credits are It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
A Life in Improv
Outside of his television work, Finn was an improv performer and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was a faculty member.
He was part of a six-member improv team known as Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils over the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find someone anyplace who has anything negative to say about him," his loved ones expressed.
Paying homage, fellow actor Richard Kind said there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote online.
Finn is leaves behind his spouse Donna, his three kids, and his parents and siblings.
