Former Doctor Accused of Sexual Assault Charges Involving 38 Individuals in His Care

Legal authorities have announced that a former physician has been charged with carrying out sexual assaults against 38 individuals who were under his care.

The Grave Charges

The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham is accused of numerous sexual offences – including some against minors under the age of thirteen – between 2017 and 2021.

A senior prosecutor said, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a thorough and intricate police inquiry, carefully reviewing the available evidence to determine that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”

The Investigation

These allegations come after what investigators called a “complex investigation” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.

Spencer is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.

Breakdown of Offences

Prosecutors outline the forty-five sexual offences he is charged with:

  • Fifteen counts of assault.
  • 17 counts of penetrative assault.
  • Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
  • Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
  • 1 count of attempting to assault by penetration.

Authorities have asked individuals with information to get in touch with the relevant police force.
