Ukraine's unmanned aerial vehicles have hit Russia's Bashneft refinery in Ufa, positioned some 1,400 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, resulting in explosions and a blaze, according to a source in Ukraine's intelligence agency.

This represents the latest Ukrainian security service far-reaching assault in Bashkortostan in the past month. Such attacks show that there are no safe places in the deep rear of the Russian state.

Electricity Repair Efforts in Kyiv

Operations proceeded on Saturday to repair energy infrastructure in the Ukrainian capital, after Russian attacks.

Energy had been recovered to more than 800,000 inhabitants by Saturday and the major private energy company said the primary operations to recover electricity was complete though certain disruptions remained.

Air Defence Operations and UAV Downings

The Ukrainian air defences downed or disrupted fifty-four of seventy-eight Russian drones launched targeting the country overnight, the military said on Saturday.

Russia's military authorities stated it eliminated 42 UAVs from Ukraine over Russian territory.

Cuba Rejects Accusations of Sending Forces to the War

Cuba on Saturday denied American claims it has sent soldiers to participate in the hostilities, while affirming the government "lack accurate information about Cuban nationals" involved "independently" or "within the troops of the conflicting parties".

The foreign ministry in the capital said 26 Cubans had been given prison terms to prison terms varying between 5 to 14 years for mercenary activity since last September when reports spread of individuals being deployed to the front in the conflict.
