A extended voyage through the Australian Coast was terminated following the tragic passing of an older woman who was abandoned by the ship on a distant coastal location.

The passenger had been walking on the tropical location with other travelers from the Coral Adventurer, but separated from the group for a break. The ship sailed away leaving her and returned later that day after the crew became aware the passenger was unaccounted for.

The CEO of the cruise operator said that travelers and personnel on the Coral Adventurer were notified that the rest of the cruise had been called off due to the "tragic passing and previous engine troubles".

In a statement, he mentioned that guests would be issued a complete reimbursement, and said the company was working "to coordinate the travel back of the passengers via chartered flights".

Regulatory bodies also issued an revised announcement, and said they had "delivered a notice to the Commander" banning any additional guests from entering the vessel.

The spokesperson said that they would inspect the ship in the Australian city upon its coming back.
