Soccer Analyst Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Olly Murs in Premier League Forecasts
The Gunners' 10-game winning run was ended by Sunderland before the international hiatus, however can the Premier League frontrunners bounce back against local foes Spurs this Sunday?
"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.
"Frank will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still manage to win."
Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, against AI, fans and a variety of guests.
For week 12, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.
Murs' new record, the new release, is available on Friday.
Football and Family Life
Murs is a talented footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of multiple charity football matches down the years - but he is not intending a professional return as a player.
"{I recently played in a charity game the other evening for a friend of mine," he said. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you will!
"I continue to love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it properly again.
"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my daughter or boy chooses to play instead."
The singer and his spouse Amelia Tank have a young family, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by becoming their coach.
"I will not force football on our kids but I've already told my wife that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be managing their weekend football team," he said.
"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a while too.
"My father coached with us when I was a kid, which is probably where I get it from. He coached our side for several seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Premier League Forecasts
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from fitness issues but their attack is now more potent with Pedro and Delap both back fit.
I still think this game will be quite close, though. Burnley are disciplined and their only home losses so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.
It smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am actually going to choose Chelsea to win narrowly for what would be their third league win in a row.
Sutton's prediction: 1-2
The singer's pick: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3
AI's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Bournemouth have lost their previous couple games - although both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which shocked me.
On the other hand, West Ham secured back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at home, they appear strong again.
The Hammers' sole away victory this season came at Forest in August, when their manager Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest manager.
So, what on earth do I go with here - can West Ham continuing their run under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?
I am going to go with the Cherries, because I believe what occurred against Aston Villa was a anomaly.
Sutton's prediction: 2-0
The guest's prediction: The home team are doing well but West Ham have improved under Nuno. 2-2
The algorithm's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season began, but they have impressed a several people under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three wins in their past four matches.
A family member told me to select Brentford striker Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks ago and, guess what, I didn't listen.
Thiago will likely find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.
The Bees have not had much fortune on the travel this season, and the Seagulls are always decent at home. The visitors will attempt to attack on the break but I think the home manager's team carry much more of a threat.
Sutton's prediction: 2-1
The singer's view: This could be a match where you expect there is going to be a many scores but it actually turns out to be rather tight. 1-1
The computer's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a huge game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their past six matches.
Fulham have have lots of talent in their team but it nonetheless feels like they could be dragged into a relegation battle.
As for Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League campaign so far.
The away side's performance in the two-all tie with Arsenal last time out was superb. We have not seen any other team disrupt the North London side like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.
The logical choice to do to back the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of roughing the hosts up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they defeated Chelsea at the close of October.
However I am not going to choose that. Rather, I truly need to carry on going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive outcomes because they evidently love to defy my predictions.
Considering Fulham's at Craven Cottage form, the sole team they have lost to is Arsenal. Their manager's side will be absolutely eager for a good result, so I am going to predict they will secure three much-needed points.
The expert's forecast: 1-0
The guest's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and also that the hosts are on a bad run... but Fulham have nonetheless been respectable at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0
AI's prediction: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
It is a tough one to predict. Liverpool have lost seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but might they be one of the teams who benefit from the {international break|
