During a dominant performance, the English national team clinched a further win against their opponents, with several players delivering memorable performances on the pitch.

Starting Lineup

The goalkeeper Had little to do to make in the first half but then called into action by Arbër Hoxha’s curled attempt. A sliding intervention against an Albanian attacker showed sharp game intelligence. 6/10

Jarell Quansah Tested by the opposition's biggest threat through their forward. Operated in a central role early on but moved wider after Saka entered the fray. 7/10

The defender Pushed up the pitch with the ball at his feet, as he has done in the past. At times lacked urgency in possession and the experiment discontinued at half-time. 6/10

The tall defender Always dangerous at set pieces, per usual, could serve as another option to Stones in the backline rather than his partner. A loose pass after the break came close to an opener from Albania. Six

The young full-back One more confident showing by the 20-year-old following his initial appearance against Serbia. Saka did not capitalize on the most of a gorgeous flick over the Albania defence. His position is firmly his so soon. 7

Adam Wharton His maiden beginning in an England shirt. Slightly sloppy on the ball though his whipped set-pieces caused problems. An effective tempo-setter available to the manager to call upon versus teams who drop deep. Cautioned after a reckless tackle. 6

Declan Rice Deliveries from corners and set-plays were dangerous. Enjoyed freedom to drift in left midfield only to be offside as the pass came in shooting positions. Awarded a deserved break after an hour. 6/10

Jude Bellingham Functioned in a forward role out wide while also contributed with defensive duties. Showed glimpses of brilliance and dragged an effort wide. Substituted towards the end by a teammate, his rival, after receiving a caution. 7/10

Jarrod Bowen Was presented with the team's best chance of the first half, his effort well saved from Thomas Strakosha. As a teammate holding position, it fell to him to offer an outlet down the right side but his crosses from wide areas varied in quality. Taken off for the final quarter-hour. 6/10

The captain The difference-maker netting two more strikes in an England shirt. The first a typical close-range tap-in and his next an excellent header having drifted away off his defender. Now 32, he’s only getting better and England stand a real opportunity next summer when he's in the team. Eight

The attacker Struggled to make an impact from the left. Was presented with a presentable chance after being played in by Bellingham but Strakosha kept it out. Rashford had a greater an impact when substituted. Five
