White House Faced Allegations of Attack on Freedom of Expression Following British Journalist Detained
The leading Islamic civil rights association has alleged the current government of a “blatant insult to freedom of expression” following national immigration authorities detained British journalist Sami Hamdi on Sunday.
This body stated that Hamdi was taken into custody at San Francisco airport for criticizing Israel’s current military campaign in Gaza. He is one of several persons who have been arrested and expelled by immigration enforcement for voicing pro-Palestinian stances.
The Department of Homeland Security announced that the journalist’s travel visa had been canceled, and that he was in custody “awaiting deportation.”
